Dear Mr. Kitson,

Would you please refer to your letter to Mr. Mayle F.2873/25/10 of the 5th April enclosing a memorandum entitled "Anti-British Feeling in China" by Mr. John V. Braga, to which Mr. Mayle sent you an interim reply on the 1st May.
We sent extracts from this memorandum to the Governor of Hong Kong and I enclose a copy of his reply. Perhaps you would be kind enough to let me know in due course whether anything has come of the idea of a pamphlet for British subjects going to China which you mentioned in your letter of the 5th April, in order that we may inform 3ir Mark Young.
I should perhaps mention that the question of the appointment of a Public Relations Officer is at present under consideration. You will notice that the Governor proposes that if and when this Officer is appointed, further consideration will be given to the issues raised in Mr. Braga's memorandum.
G.V. KITSON, ESQ., FOREIGN OFFICE.
Yours sincerely,
(S.)
